I’m baaaack

July 1, 2010

I figure I might as well keep the streak of a blog post a month up.  I have to be honest here, I really had every intention of posting something once a week.  I had my goal at that.  I guess I get so intimidated at writing something so I put it off FOREVER.  I’m not a huge fan of writing.  It was never my strong suit, so with that said let’s try to get only some photos up with no words.  Every now and again I may chime in to say hi to my blog but for now Here are a few shots of my kid-o’s.  I’ll get some weddings up (hopefully) shortly.

Listen: Jonsi

May 12, 2010

Holy cow!  I just got done listening to Jonsi’s album….freaking AMAIZING! If you like Sigur Ros you’ll love it! It is the lead singer of Sigur Ros, so the sound is very similar. Give it a listen.

Eric

May 12, 2010

I have to post this shot! I have worked with Eric for about 4 years now and to say the least it has been a huge blessing being around him. Eric is extremely inspiring and oozes talent. I have been taking head shots of people around the office for a few weeks now and after I ran this one through Photoshop I couldn’t stop looking at it for some reason. I love the B&W conversion, the beautiful natural light and just the character of Eric’s face.

My Little People

May 12, 2010

Happy Tuesday all!  I hope you all are doing well and thank you for checking in on my humble little blog.  I have been editing family pictures like crazy lately, so I thought I would share a few with you, and a video.  Jonah and Sophie are getting HUGE and keeping Meghan (since shes nice enough to let me sleep at night while Jonah nurses and keeps the hose locked down all day…but trush me stay at home mommyhood is some TOUGH work) and I extremely busy.  Here are a few recent shots of our little people.

Sophie made Jonah’s “hat” at school for St. Patrick’s Day. It was a pot of gold at one point, but so much more fun worn as a hat.

This is what happens when you put a 3 1/2 year old who likes to dress up in the same room as her little brother. Only a real man can rock a tiara!

“What was just on my head?”

How bout’ them cheeks?

Mischievous, to say the least.

Yet so cute.

Jonah and “papa”

Jonah just looking cute, even with two ear infections :(

Last but not lease, here is Miss Sophie doing dishes, and making coco. For the nerds of the group, it was shot with a 5D Mark II, Canon 28-70 2.8 @ f/2.8. Edited in Final Cut after being transcoded to ProRes 422LT. A bit of color grading done in Color. (I’m a nerd and love to know all the info so, thought I would pass it on :) )

Our newest little guy turned 6 months old today.  It’s amazing how time flies.  From a floppy little baby to chunky little boy happens too fast.

Hello people.  I’m back….again.  I think I fall off the map for about a month after every post.  I don’t know if that’s good because I have been so busy or bad because I have completely neglected my poor little blog.  regardless, here I am today with a few pictures to post.  I’ll be posting the rest as they get edited.  Below is the beautiful Lindsay shot in Waxhaw SC last Friday.  It could not have been a better day to go out and enjoy the weather, sunny, about 70 and accompanied with the extremely talented David Stanfield and our office intern-ette Jessica.  I hope you guys…and girls enjoy.

Flying with Frank

March 8, 2010

Hey peoples.  Happy Monday.  I hope you all had an awesome weekend.  I know I did!  I was very blessed with the opportunity to go flying with a friend of mine.  He has been working on getting his pilots license for years now…that whole college, marriage, kid and job thing had been getting in the way.  Regardless of the craziness life brought him Frank is now official.  We took off Saturday morning, a cloudless, cool morning; which is apparently perfect for flying.  First matter of business once airborne; fly by our houses.  Sophie and Meghan were out back waving at us as we passed my house and then we were off to enjoy the clear skies.

Talk about an awesome way to travel.  It took about 20 minutes to get to Shelby from Gaston Municipal and it about an hour and a half to the beach….one day.  Until then here are a few pictures.

Be Well!

Back from Dallas

February 23, 2010

So I spent last week in Dallas filming at the C3 conference.  If you’re not familiar with C3 it’s a conference that takes place every year at Fellowship Church.  What an amazing experience it was.  This is one of the most progressive churches in the US if not the world.  I would put it up there with Hillsong Australia.  They have around 20,000 members between 3 different campuses so it is ranked up there with the “mega churches” but it doesn’t feel that way at all.  This was the first time I had visited the church and I felt right at home.  Everyone was very welcoming, the worship was AMAZING and the speakers that I heard were extremely inspiring.  It was such a blessing to have the opportunity to get out and experience it all.  I’ll be posting some video that we shot while we were down there in the coming weeks when it gets edited down.

Now the only bad part of travel is missing the family.  When I got home I was greeted with an energized little 3 year old that could hardly wait for me to get in the door to hug me, my beautiful wife and chubby little 3 month old were right behind.   Coming home even from short trips is so much fun, and since I hadn’t touched a still camera in a week I had to snap a few shots.

SNOW!

February 6, 2010

So we finally got some snow.  Only a few inches but snow none the less.  Of corse Sophie couldn’t wait to get out and play in it.  First off we made an “Igloo”, well an igloo to her but just a tower of icy snow to most everyone else.  Her and I got to play outside on the second day of our snow and since it had rained and sleeted a little the night before she was able to walk on the snow/icy mix.  I had a few skate decks laying around in the shed and thought that they could be put to use.  Last year they were our makeshift sleds and they served that purpose perfectly this year.  Sophie started in the front yard and then worked out into the street.  Hopefully we’ll see another snow storm before summer hits, and maybe next time we’ll have a real sled
